Welcome

Hello!
My name is Melina Sterling, and thank you for considering me for your upcoming event. It is always my honour and pleasure to share my vulnerability and stories with a live audience. I am comfortable performing in an array of venues, from intimate spaces to large festivals. If you choose to have me at your event I can guarantee you a steady stream of open communication, kindness with all staff and performers alike, and a uniquely soulful performance. Please see my live performances and story below.
On February 4, 2025 I performed a one hour set on 88.5 CJSR Radio, a local station in the city of Edmonton. "It Takes A Village" with Rhea March and sound engineer Miles Wilkinson showcases musicians from all over the city and I had the opportunity to share my originals, talk about my career and my journey with mental health. I consider this one of my strongest and best performances and encourage you to take a listen!
My Music Story
Born in Costa Rica and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, my musical journey began early, evolving through choir, violin, and six years of bass clarinet in jazz, concert, rock, and pit ensembles. I performed in these ensembles across Alberta before launching my solo career in Vancouver 2021. During my time on the west coast, I graced stages like Guilt & Co., Portside Pub, and the Funky Buddha. Since moving back home, I've performed at many Edmonton venues and festivals such as Hi-Light Fest, Peace and Unity Festival, and Klondike Days’ Innovation Stage. With intimate, breathy vocals, I bring vulnerability and passion to every performance. My music is a blend of personal storytelling, alternative guitar tunings, and looped layers of guitar and percussion. Each song reflects a chapter of my life, with the goal of inspiring connection and liberation through shared experiences. My purpose is to unite people through the transformative power of music and storytelling, creating meaningful moments on every stage I step onto.
